First Look Pitch Competition
What is it?
The First Look Pitch Competition is an exciting opportunity for tech founders to showcase their ventures in front of investors and a live audience at the Founders and Funders. By simply purchasing your ticket by June 1st and completing the application form, eligible founders are automatically considered for the competition.

How does it work?
- Get your ticket - By purchasing a Founders and Funders ticket before June 1st, you are automatically considered for the First Look Pitch Competition. Eligible founders MUST purchase their ticket by the deadline to be considered and complete this application in full, to be considered.
- Get Selected - The selection committee will review applications and create a shortlist of startups to pitch at the qualifiers. Selected ten startups will be notified via email on TBA.
- Compete at Qualifiers - This is your chance to impress! Shortlisted startups will get five minutes to pitch to panel of investors from Brampton Angel Group and industry experts followed by three minutes for Q&A on June 10th.
- Pitch to Win at the Grand Finale - Present your startup to 100+ attendees on the First Look Main Stage in the afternoon of June 11th! Finalists from the pitch qualifiers will have 5 minutes to pitch. The winner will receive a $30,000 valuated prize package comprised of $5,000 cash, office and legal resources, IP and finance, and investment consulting, and a chance to pitch Brampton Angels in 2025!
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the First Look Pitch Competition, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be a tech-based company with a new and novel solution (past the ideation stage) addressing an important problem
- Be a business operating in Greater Toronto Hamilton Area (GTHA) or in Innovation Corridor
- Less than $1,000,000 in fundraising or investment
- Less than 5 years of operating your business, as of June 11, 2025
- Entrants must be able to present to the selection committees in person on June 10th at TBD time and on June 11th at 8:00am and 12:00 pm.
- Submissions may be entered as individuals or teams, however, the maximum number of team members for a single pitch is limited to one person per company. (to be added in application form)
